Shiny Clean Teeth

All the kids went in to get their teeth cleaned this week. Tessa was very nervous but she did awsome. Now Grace and Tessa cannot stop smiling in the mirror and looking at their shiny clean teeth. Every day they ask if they can go back and get them cleaned again so they can keep their sparkly princess smiles. Maybe they just like it there because they have the cutest dentist ever!

How Does Rachel Spend Her Birthday???

First she gets up really early (way too early) and eats a big french toast breakfast. Next she spends time piling blankets on top of Sophie and pulling them off to make Sophie's hair stick up and calling me in every few minutes to take pictures. For dinner she wanted spaghetti and meatballs and chocolate cake. In her presents she requested a digital camera and mini american girl dolls. After cake and presents we play apples to apples and rock band. Tomorrow I am to bring 2 dozen donuts to her classroom and Friday is a friend party at the house. These January birthdays tire me out!

What a cutie ...

I was so nervous going into my ultrasound this week. I have learned that sometimes it is not meant to be and this is the appointment where you either see a heartbeat or you don't. So I'm laying there thinking, "come on heartbeat ... where are you?" and before we ever see the heartbeat, we saw 2 wiggly little arms and 2 little legs moving around. Even though we can't be 100% sure that everything is going to be fine, the chances are very good. We couldn't quite see any boy parts yet... maybe on the next ultrasound. Tessa is sure this is a girl and she is going to be named Sassy. Good thing Tessa is not in charge of picking the name.

Julia is 11!

Julia had a very fun 11th birthday last week. She wanted to celebrate with her family by going to a Japanese steak house for dinner, then have a big party with her friends a few days later. Her favorite present was a new green digital camera. We made some wonderful cupcakes with a Cooks Illustrated best recipe. Yumm!

3 year-olds love ice cream!

Actually, who doesn't love an ice cream sundae on a special occasion? We rang in the new year with Justin and Lisa's family. We started by going out for sushi while Julia managed the house full of kids. After that we came home and had an ice cream party and played rock band until midnight. Most of us made it all they way ... the 3year-olds and Grace crashed. John crashed early too (he blames it on bad sushi). Happy 2008!
