A Baby Shower!
We had the funnest time at my baby shower last night!!! My friend Marlayna did an awesome job planning it and putting everything together. The food was excellent... it was a fiesta theme and we had a sort of Mexican stew in a taco salad shell topped with lettuce, black bean salad and Mexican cheese. There were lots of yummy desserts and guacamole. I think there were about 40 adults there plus a bunch of kids. The little ones swam and hit a pinata and got their faces painted. There was a special pinata for John and I to open filled with baby boy items and toys. It was slightly embarrassing but very fun.

Haircuts...
Julia's Room
We have nearly completed Julia's bedroom. We had to do the whole French theme because that is Julia's love. She found her perfect bedding set on ebay. I had the window seat cushions and window treatments made by a lady in Boise ... she did a great job. We found the art work on ebay and the wall letters at Pottery Barn Teen. Now all we need to do is decide on a fabric to upholster the old yellow chair that is covered in a pink sheet. Any suggestions???

Fireworks!
Before heading downtown to attempt to see the big fireworks display we lit of a few little ones in the driveway. Lisa seemed to enjoy being the one with the lighter. Tessa and Emily watched from a safe distance. Afterwards we headed downtown with bikes and blankets to find a spot at the park. The grand plan was for Lisa and Joelle to get dropped off to save a spot (because they can't bike too well these days) and the rest of the gang to park at John's office and bike on the greenbelt to meet us. Emily and Tessa were in the bike trailer and Grace was on a tandem bike attached to John's and the older 4 had bikes of their own. Unfortunately, 2 minutes after leaving the office Amanda took a little detour into a bush and fell a few feet from the river. That kind of slowed things down and they ended up watching the fireworks from a distance while Joelle and Lisa layed on blankets in the park, ate treats and enjoyed peace and quiet. It would have been more fun if we were all together, but it was all fine.

The Lizard Tamer

Tessa found this in the backyard and Grace caught it. They have been playing with it all day long. I hope it is not a poisonous one. Grace seems to be quite an animal person. She spends a lot of time outside trying to catch birds or bugs and talking to them. She is going to have a blast next time she visits Tobago with all the lizards there!
